Location: Bourne End, Bucks, SL8 5TD (Travel required to different sites for commissioning)

Job Purpose:

As a Smart Lighting and Controls Technician at Kazzar, you will play a multifaceted role in overseeing the technical aspects of smart control systems and providing technical support for lighting installations. Your responsibilities will extend beyond controls, including assisting with technical issues related to lighting installations and potentially contributing to our expansion into solar and battery installations.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Collaborate with clients and designers to develop smart lighting and control strategies for specific spaces.

• Commission control systems on-site and troubleshoot technical issues related to controls.

• Provide technical support for lighting installations, assisting with on-site issues.

• Create control circuit plans and collaborate with lighting designers for control circuit development.

• Propose smart control solutions to clients and assist in project-specific customization.

• Work with electricians to ensure the successful installation of smart control systems and lighting fixtures.

• Conduct commissioning of control systems and lighting installations.

• Provide training to clients and team members on control system and lighting usage.

• Stay adaptable and keep up with evolving technologies and industry trends.

• Be open to assisting in solar and battery installation projects as part of our expansion efforts.

 

Skills and Educational Background:

• Ideally, candidates should possess familiarity with electrical systems and wiring practices

• Familiarity with electrical design, basic wiring skills, and lighting controls protocols such as DALI, DMX, and KNX.

• IT literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and CAD experience are a plus.

• Ability to understand coding (e.g., Java, Python, etc.) would be beneficial.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines

 

Skills:

- Strong knowledge of lighting equipment, including different types of fixtures, control consoles, and dimming systems
- Proficient in programming lighting cues using industry-standard software
- Familiarity with electrical systems and wiring practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills to quickly address technical issues
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients
- Attention to detail to ensure precise execution of lighting designs

Client Interaction:

• Interact with clients, including architects, interior designers, lighting designers, contractors, and electricians.

• Understand client requirements and offer suitable smart lighting and control solutions.

 

Tools and Software:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

• CAD software skills.

• Ability to use AI technology efficiently to enhance work processes.

 

Geographic Scope:

• Projects will primarily be local, with occasional travel within the UK, mainly in the South England region.

Compensation:

• Salary range: £25,000 to £35,000 per annum.

• Suitable for candidates with intermediate experience or recent electrical engineering graduates.

• Comprehensive benefits package, including provided computer equipment.

• Work location: Kazzar Lighting & Controls office in Bourne End, Buckinghamshire.

 

Requirements:

• Valid UK driver's license.

• UK residency proof.

• Clean driving record.

• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
